SheffUni3 Bio Scientists

Sheffield University has great strength and depth in its bioscience department, particularly in genomic medicine, drug discovery, biomaterials, tissue engineering, stem cell biology and environmental biotechnology. These strengths drive an expanding nucleus of bioscience companies ranging from established firms to developing early stage start-ups.

Sometimes however it not very easy to explain what the scientists and the team at the University actually do. To promote their work, and encourage young people to consider science as a career, they have open days and science fairs that illustrate some of the experiments and career paths a student would undertake.

Production Notes

SheffUni2 Bio Scientists

To support the attendance of Sheffield University’s Bioscience team a film was commissioned to showcase some of the “behind the scenes work” both student and staff undertake.

Please note the film above is a condensed cut of a 60 minute video that was designed for loop playback on the University’s publicity stand. As of July 2010 the full film can be seen in full here.
