There are many kinds of video genres, all designed for different purposes. We thought it would be useful to identify what kinds of video we specialise in. We are always willing to consult on projects outside of our remit, and if we can’t provide a solution we can always advise on who can. Where and who are important questions. Where will the video be seen and by whom? Most clients come to us with an understanding of this, and that allows the two of us, in partnership to identify the right medium for the video.

Web Video
Video available on the web can be split into two categories: free and paid for. Freely distributed content is ideal for marketing, PR, product ads, training, distribution of information and so on. This video can be distributed on social media channels, web sites, and intranet systems.
Online videos are an powerful medium to help a company reach out to a wide audience. These products engage your audience at an emotional level in ways that activate multiple senses. The more senses a person engages the better the information is retained and acted upon, this is even more effective when coupled with an emotion.
DVD Video
Optical media provides a high quality method of distributing a physical video package. This include:
- Entertainment media for sale.
- In house training material.
- Marketing companion.
- Live screen displays at locations.
Any time a physical product is required optical media offers the best quality for an affordable cost. Small runs or large mass production can be accommodated to suit.
Broadcast Media
The types of product suitable for broadcast channels include story based content such as documentaries or promotional material such as an advert.
Digital Content – Hardware
Video can be embedded into different kinds of hardware.
USB sticks offer an alternative to providing optical media. Video can be embedded on to a stick and protected to prevent erasure. Devices such as the iPad can be configured to deliver video, without the need for a computer; as soon as the device is switched on the video content plays.
Live displays can be connected to a computer capable of running complex High Definition content.Video can be embedded into such a device which take information from live web sources and update the results in real time with visual fare.

Documentaries
Stripping away the technology, tools, graphics, finishing, distribution and analysis from video production, at our very core we are story tellers.

One of the ways we tell stories is in documentary formats. The purpose of such a film can range from telling the story of a specific event to following a person’s individual journey.
Whatever the story, we believe in telling it in the most creative and powerful way imaginable.
Some of our products feel and look like a film, giving viewers a cinematic experience. Other styles may require hidden cameras, or a more realistic look and feel to emphasise reality and relate to specific audience types.
Listening and working with our clients we develop story strands, questions and scripts that allow the narrative to unfold, ensuring all the right messages are included and emphasised when and where they matter.
Corporate & Training
Corporate video production doesn’t always have the best reputation. A quick search online will reveal cheesy voice overs, painful to watch walk and talks to camera and the worst use of graphics imaginable.

We know it doesn’t have to be like that. A corporate video which has the feel of a documentary or film, that the audience can engage with is far more powerful in our experience.
We define our training videos as the communication of key information using imagery and graphics in a creative and entertaining package to effectively and efficiently teach an audience. The video can be available on internal or external web sites, via disc or other digital platforms such as USB Memory stick, Keynote or Powerpoint.

All videos, but especially training videos require detailed planning and preparation before production can begin. We work alongside clients to fully understand the information and processes they need to communicate.
We go way beyond video production and fully understand how the target audience learns, utilising pedagogy (teaching theory) to deliver the content in the best way.

Interviews
Standalone interviews have become increasingly popular online. Their purpose is to provide brands, companies or products with a human connection to their market. This visual identity comes through a personal touch, and has the added benefit of reiterating content on the site, cutting down on text based content that certain audiences might not digest through other mediums.
